共同研究「E-メール・PCを使った日本語遠隔教育の試み」

研究の目的：E-メール、コンピュータネットワークを使って日本語教育はどこまで可能か。遠隔教育としての可能性を探る。
研究の意義：コンピュータでE-メールを使う人の数が飛躍的に増えている。また、日本語を学ぶ理由も多様化している。実際に、E-メールを使い日本語を教えているボランティアの方もいる。E-メールを使い、日本語を教えるとき、どんなことができ、どんなことができないのか。どのようにすれば効果的な支援活動ができるのかがわかれば、今後、このような活動は増え、日本語を必要としている人に、個人で学習を助けたり、いろいろな問題の解決することができ、日本語学習のネットワークはより大きな広がりをもつだろう。
研究の方法： １、6人から15人くらいの教授者と、20人前後の学習者。 ２、 参加メンバーはそれぞれ、E一定期間学習者に日本語を教える。そこでのやり取りを出来る限り記録しておく。メールでのやり取りはそのまま保存しておく。 2-1、学習者は海外、国内の両方の学習者を想定。 国内の学習者の場合は、必要に応じて電話などを使い、学習者と話すこともあり得る。その場合、どんな場面で学習者と電話を使って話さなければならなかったか、あるいは実際に学習者と会う必要が生じたかを記録しておく。これはメールでどこまでができ、どこができないのかを探るために必要。 海外の場合、学習者と教授者が共にインターネット電話に加入していない限り上記の活動は難しい。そこで、どんな時に会った方がいいと思ったか、何ができなかったかを記録しておく。 ３、一定期間を経た後、学習者と教授者にアンケートを行い、その結果を分析する。教授者は学習の記録、学習過程で教授者が考えたこと、思いついたことなどを出来る限り書き留めておき、分析に使う。 3-1、期間については、3ヶ月くらい学習者とやり取りをし、そこでのデータをまとめたいと思う。もちろん学習者・教授者が希望すれば、その後も続けることは可能。ただ、共同研究には一応の期間を設けたい。

１、学習者のレベルは一定とはしないが、日本語でメールをやり取りできるレベルが要求されるので中級以上になるだろう。 ３、教え方。 学習者主体の教え方とする。 学習者が質問し、それに答えるような形で行う。具体的には ① まず学習者が聞きたいことを教授者にメールで送る。 ② 教授者はそれに答えると同時にメールの日本語の誤りも指摘し、問題点について簡単な設問を送る。 ③ 学習者は設問に答え、かつ新たな問題について質問する。 ④ 質問は必ずしも日本語に関することでなくても良い。日本。日本文化に関することも含める。 ４、公開 今回の実験の結果、過程はデータとして公表される。ただし、学習者の住所、名前、アドレスなどは公表しない。性別、出身国などはデータとして公表されることもある。 大勢の方のご参加をお待ちしております。 新井弘泰
